From Stephen:
I traveled part way with Ed in 1988 with the "Globe-Hopper". He was driving it across country to a road show called the "Cruise to the Nats. The car broke down on the side of the freeway
and I ended up watching it for over 6 hours while him and my friend went and got parts for it. It was an adventure alright.
I have it all on hard copy pictures. It will only be me or my friend Chris. I spent the night with that car on the side of a freeway until they found that new engine part. I have some great pictures of Ed.
He also did a custom made Rat Fink picture for each me and my friend that features us in the picture.
Ive got pictures of Big Daddy, myself, the Globe Hopper and also the highway patrolman talking to us. We also spent the night in a barn with the Big Daddy. Yep, a barn. It is a crazy and wild story.
This is Big Daddy Ed Roth, saying so this barn is our home for the night.
Stephen getting comfortable in the barn.
Big Daddy drawing his famous Rat Fink (Chris and I both have one.)
"Well, maybe this could be a little bigger problem than I thought..."
Why yes, it certainly was! We had to take the whole engine out...

Mmmmm, there seems to be a little problem, it won't take
but a few minutes to fix.......no big deal!
Hey, the boys are still smiling after two hours in the sun outside of Oklahoma City.
The sign says "Steve and Chris broke down with the Big Daddy".
Now if you didnt have a rope or chain to pull a car, what do you do?
We used a hammock!
Now whats wrong with that? Well its illegal and dangerous, so Chris found out!
(Two miles outside of Oklahoma City.)
We finally towed it to a barn wrapped it up and left it!

Below.........Oh, finally a new engine meanwhile...Steve is back
on the freeway sitting in the hot sun for six hours.
Good ol'e Steve trying to be helpful.
What kind of wrench did you want?
